What can this be used for?

For example, do you want to cover your acrylic painting with a clear layer or cast something in a mold, such as cubes, shaft blanks or interior items such as bowls or the like? Absolutely perfect, this starter kit is for you! You just have to decide what you want to make and how much epoxy you need!

Which hardener should I choose? Fast or slow?

Use fast if what you are going to cast is less than 25mm thick. If you are going to cast up to 50mm you can use slow. The only difference is that fast hardens in 24 hours and slow hardens in 72 hours. If you are going to cast more than 50mm thick, we recommend casting in several stages, i.e. layer by layer.

    How much do I need?

The amount depends on how large the project you are going to cast is. Measure the void you are going to fill in decimeters and multiply together. That will give you the answer in liters of epoxy you need. You can also use the calculator below.

    Tips for use:

    • Measure and Mix: For best results, measure mixing ratio by weight (or carefully by volume in mixing cup) according to the product mixing ratio as shown on the bottle. Always measure, even if you are going to use everything.
    • Mix thoroughly: Stir and mix the product thoroughly, making sure to scrape the sides and bottom of the mixing cup several times to achieve an even mixture of resin and hardener.
    • Control temperature and humidity: Use the product in a controlled temperature environment within the recommended product specification. Avoid high humidity and cold environments for best results, such as bathrooms, damp unfurnished basements or cold garages.
    • Prepare the surface: For optimal adhesion, the surface must be dry and free of dirt, grease and oil. Matt sanding the surface with sandpaper before application is highly recommended for better adhesion.
    • Get to know each other, do tests: We always recommend doing small tests with the epoxy and the materials you plan to use beforehand. This helps you understand how the product works, cures and reacts in relation to your work environment, the other products you will be using and how to achieve the desired result before mixing together hundreds or thousands of kroner worth of epoxy.
    • Safety: Wear gloves and safety glasses to avoid skin contact. Ensure good ventilation, both during mixing and curing. It is advisable to wear a mask with an organic filter to avoid inhaling any vapors if ventilation is not sufficient.

    Mixing ratio : 2:1 (Resin:Hardener) by volume and 100:43 Resin:Hardener by weight.

That means, for example, 5L Resin and 2.5L hardener, or 8 kg resin and 3.44kg hardener.

Sold as a complete set, the number of liters is the total (resin + hardener). If you need only one of the parts, please send us a message.

1 liter of epoxy weighs approximately 1070-1080 grams when fully mixed,
which means that to fill a 5L mold you need 5400 grams.

Density chart grams per cubic cm (g/cm3)
    Resin 1.13
    Fast hardener 0.98
    Slow hardener 0.95

GLASS CLEAR EPOXY FOR ART, CASTING AND FILLING

Entropy CCR is a glass-clear (crystal clear) and thin-flowing epoxy. It is intended for use in casting, filling and baking in and completely covering various objects. When used with porous materials, it is recommended to apply a thin layer that hardens first, to avoid air bubbles leaking out. High transparency (water-clear) makes it well suited for covering or baking in colored objects and surfaces. This is a special epoxy that has been developed for casting crystal clear and thick layers.

Entropy CCR gives you an incredible amount of possibilities to create and make whatever you want. You can mix in color pigments and various fillers that create amazing effects. Here, the only limit is your imagination.

    LARGE RANGE OF USE

With Entropy CCR you can create jewelry, decorations, river tables and lined castings of objects of many kinds. This is a product that has a very wide range of applications, and you can use it both professionally and for many types of art and hobby use.

CCR is self-leveling and cures to a glass-like surface. When using the slow hardener, thick layers of epoxy can be applied and high and impressive structures can be created. CCR has good resistance to UV rays and thus provides good color stability.

    SAFE USE

The following section applies generally to all types of epoxy, not just this one. It applies regardless of what other sellers say. Many suppliers under-represent the dangers of improper use of the product. Always familiarize yourself with the product you are going to use and its safety data sheet. All epoxy is inherently hazardous to health in its liquid state, but can be used safely if you follow the safety data sheet recommendations. For some simple precautions, remember Storbua's epoxy safety rules :
    1. Keep in a ventilated room where the air is changed frequently or has an exhaust fan, and where any spills can be controlled and unauthorized persons cannot come into contact with the product or product residues.
    2. If the work area is not adequately ventilated, wear a mask with an organic filter to be safe.
    3. Protect all parts of the body from contact with resin and hardener (skin, hair, eyes, etc.)
    4. After completion work, wash the surfaces that have been touched, including the cured product. Feel free to use acetone or alcohol to remove any uncured epoxy. Wet wipes can also be useful for wiping surfaces.
    5. Always wear a mask when sanding and other processing.

If you follow these 5 rules, most of the work is done, and you can use most epoxy systems safely! But that does not exempt you from reading the safety data sheet. Happy casting!
