Screw to shaft - Screw with colored washer

The screws are supplied in sets containing 2 screws, a threaded tube and two colored washers.

They are used by pre-drilling 5mm holes in the tang and shank, then drilling 7mm holes partially through the shank plates from the outside, so that the bolt heads have space and a shelf to sit in when screwing them together. You can then apply glue and screw the shank together so that the bolts grip the shank and press it to the tang. After the glue has hardened, the tops of the screw are ground away, leaving a stylish circle of steel or brass.
