This gives you the advantage of a hard edge and a tough blade. It also makes sharpening easy after hardening.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003cp\u003e With thin blades, it is advantageous to do the sharpening after hardening because a thinly sharpened blade is very vulnerable to damage, excessive temperature or warping during heating and cooling.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003ch2\u003e Raindrop, Dragonskin, Beach and Laminar\u003c\/h2\u003e\n\n \u003cp\u003eThe three patterns Raindrop, Dragonskin and Beach are embossed in a special press to slightly bend the steel layers so that the differences between layers are revealed when the knife blade is sharpened. Laminar is completely flat and smooth, and it is the basis for the other three unique patterns before pressing.
