Make your own knife? Beginner's Guide to Materials

Here you will find specially selected products for those of you who would like to know what to start with! This does not mean that the products below are of low quality, but that they are easier to work with, more likely to give a good result, and often cheaper as well!

Steel: If you are going to harden yourself with gas or coal, these three steels are perfect. We advise you to choose the one that has a size that suits your project best! If you want a different steel, or do not want to harden, we can assist with that. If you would rather start with a finished blade, then click here!

Handle blank: Choose between cheap and functional natural wood, or invest a little more for a stable and solid composite material like G10 or micarta! Plates with G10 and micarta may look expensive, but remember that it will last for several knives!

Pins: Here we recommend function and price over form, but the most important thing is that you have a drill that is of the same diameter! 3mm pins and a 3mm drill bit are always a safe choice! Simple and stylish!
